Rice Pilaf Recipe from Chef Don McMillan
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable stock (or water, if no stock available)
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 T butter, or oil
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ t salt
  • ¼ t black pepper
  1. Heat oil in a medium sauce pot over medium high heat.
  2. Add onion, saute 3 minutes
  3. Add rice to the onion mixture and saute for 2 minutes
  4. Add stock and seasonings and bring to a boil in a medium sauce pot.
  5. Reduce heat, and simmer for the amount of time listed on the package (will depend on the rice)
